The timeline depends on the complexity of the design, typically ranging from 2 to 8 weeks. Simpler non-standard tool holders may be faster, while entirely new tools involving complex geometry, special materials, or multiple rounds of testing and validation may take longer. A detailed timeline will be provided at the project kickoff.

While the initial cost of custom tools is higher than standard tools, the return on investment should be evaluated based on total production costs. Custom tools improve machining efficiency, reduce tool change and setup times, lower scrap rates, extend tool life, and reduce machine downtime, all of which quickly offset the initial cost and provide long-term benefits.
