What is a Oscillating Knife
Oscillating Knife (Vibration Knife) is an advanced cutting tool technology that utilizes high-frequency, low-amplitude vertical oscillation for material processing. Unlike traditional rotary blades or laser cutting, the core innovation lies in the blade’s extremely high-frequency vertical reciprocating motion (oscillation) during cutting – typically reaching thousands to over 20,000 oscillations per minute – with a minimal amplitude (generally ranging from fractions of a millimeter to several millimeters).
Core Working Principles:
High-Frequency Oscillation: The blade is driven by precision motors or piezoelectric ceramic actuators to perform rapid, controlled vertical reciprocating motion.
“Woodpecker-Style” Cutting: This motion pattern resembles a woodpecker’s pecking action, enabling the blade to engage and penetrate materials at ultra-high frequencies.
Reduced Cutting Resistance: The oscillation dramatically lowers static friction at the blade-material contact point, resulting in significantly reduced dynamic cutting forces.
