Not necessarily. The choice of cutter body material depends on the specific application. For high-strength and high-wear-resistant applications, we offer carbide bodies. For lightweight needs, such as with PCD face milling cutters, we use 7075 aluminum alloy.
For complex geometries, small diameters, or ultra-fine machining, a solid carbide end mill is more advantageous.
Due to the high-performance characteristics of PCD tools, we typically choose 7075 aluminum alloy, which offers strength comparable to some steels but is much lighter. Its strength is sufficient to support the cutting forces during machining, without adding excessive weight. This helps improve machining efficiency.
Cutting angles (such as rake angle, relief angle, and main cutting edge angle) affect cutting forces, surface quality, and tool life. Proper selection of cutting angles can reduce cutting forces, improve machining efficiency, and enhance surface finish.
Measures to avoid vibration include selecting the appropriate cutting parameters, using a high-rigidity machine tool, ensuring the tool is securely mounted, and maintaining a consistent cutting load during machining.
